Humble Beginnings

Original Symbol
The League of Ass Kickers was originally founded as The League of the Arse Kickers at Johnnie Fox’s Pub in Glencullen, Ireland in the late October of 1845 by Patrick Riley O’Hoolihan. His reasons were never confirmed, but eye witness accounts and official League records indicate that O’Hoolihan was struck with a grand vision upon seeing a pattern of concentric rings of condensation on the bar when he lifted his mug.

His vision? A League of Ass Kickers to be feared by those in need of it.

It is no coincidence that these very same concentric rings have been our symbol for the last 150 years, serving O’Hoolihan’s dream, as a warning for ass that needs whooping and a beacon for those who need it done.

By the time the night was over, the League had recruited well over a dozen members—each the strongest and toughest most ass-kickingest man of the day, who went out to spread the word that very night.

Initial reaction to the group was not a warm one. Half of the League’s members were immediately jailed under charges of lewd vandalism and wanton destruction of private property, and cries of shennanigins followed the group for years to come.

Undaunted, the League continued fighting the good fight of kicking ass and grow in numbers incredibly even under a watchful public eye. Then in 1851, things took a turn for the worse.
